With its 200-foot pier stretching out into the Manatee River, the Palmetto Riverside Bed & Breakfast is now welcoming guests arriving by land and by boat.
Owned by Belgian innkeepers Wim and Mieke Lippens, the circa 1913 home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Each of its four distinctly appointed guest rooms is outfitted with French period antiques and features a private bath, high-speed wireless Internet and flat screen TV.
In the enclosed wraparound veranda, guests enjoy daily gourmet breakfasts that include homemade breads and tropical fruit, and a nightly cocktail hour with wine and hors d’oeuvres. Dinner is available by prior appointment for guests only.
Guests also have access to complimentary bicycles and kayaks. The Lippens are multilingual and enjoy welcoming visitors from around the world in five different languages.
