Julie Quinlivan and Sally Woodward are dining divas turned beach bums, and proud owners of Rudy's Subs and More on Anna Maria Island. After selling their Colorado restaurant business, they scoured the Gulf Coast in their RV seeking the right beach town to call home. They happened upon Anna Maria Island and are pleased with what they’ve found – a charming and beachy keen Old Florida destination.
A couple of years ago, Rudy’s (named for one of their dogs) opened in a cozy space along Gulf Drive in the City of Anna Maria. They are enjoying a growing clientele and entertain the palates of visitors and locals alike with the breakfast Roo – steak, egg and veggies on a sub roll - and lunch specialties such as their signature Philly cheese steak, all offered with their special homemade pepper relish. Daily delights include homemade muffins, cinnamon rolls and sometimes mom’s chocolate cupcakes.
The sand-and-surf décor includes a beachy mural, painted surf boards and a palm tree counter post. Make sure to pay a visit to Julie and Sally next time you’re in town.
