Gaetano "Guy" Cannata brings the taste of Siracusa, which has an Italian-Frech influence, to Ortygia Restaurant in Bradenton's Village of the Arts.

Ortygia, the bright-yellow Old Florida home with blue trim, serves "the food of the Monzu," Sicily's former aristocracy -- dishes like Pasta con Sugo, a generations-old family pasta in tomato sauce, and Farsumagru (stuffed sirloin). When he can, Gaetano uses fresh ingredients from independent local providers.
