Milk, Cheese and Yogurt from Local DairyDakin Dairy Farms has been milking cows in Manatee County for 35 years and now has a processing plant to bottle milk and yogurt, and to produce homemade cheese. In addition to tours of the processing plant, Dakin offers agritourism tours to the public that include interactive experiences with assorted farm animals.

Community-Supported Agriculture
At the local urban farm Geraldson Community Farm, harvests include, radishes, carrots, lettuce and cucumbers -- depending on the season. Visitors and locals can volunteer to work the land on Wednesday or Saturday mornings November to May. They must be able to lift at least 20 pounds, as well as bend and kneel over.

Florida Grapes
Rosa Fiorelli Winery is a family-owned and -operated business located just south of Lake Manatee. Rosa and her husband, Antonio, moved to this area from Casteldaccia, Sicily, and were struck by the similarities to their native land. Their vineyard has 10 acres with a 3,000-square-foot processing facility. The winery has been in business for nine years and has earned prestigious awards in the winemaking industry.
