Lakewood Ranch began its life as a planned residential community, but it’s grown up now, becoming an attractive place for visitors too. So whether you’re planning a trip for the family or girlfriend getaway... It’s the perfect place for fun!

~Day 1~

Start your mini-vacation off right with a little pampering!  Lakewood Ranch has a number of spas to choose from including Ana Molinari, Lemon Blossom and the Che Bella Salon & Spa.

Once relaxed and rejuvenated.. Join the fun at Lakewood Ranch’s monthly street party, Music on Main. The free concert is held year-round on the first Friday of each month on Main Street. Each month a different style of music is featured and it always benefits a local non-profit organization. So bring along a chair, grab an ice cream cone and enjoy the tunes.

~Day 2~

Get an early start at the Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market. Also located on Main Street, it features some of some of the freshest produce around as well as handmade crafts and jewelry. And - make sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore some of new and funky shops and restaurants along the way.

For dinner, make your reservation early for the Viking Cooking School. It’s been called one the most exclusive culinary schools in the nation.  The 4,000-square-foot facility features live cooking demos from local and national chefs all showcasing their different cooking styles. The school will offer samplings, tastings, beer and wine service and hands-on cooking classes.  Check their calendar for an array of events scheduled including sushi night, kids night and pizza & pasta parties.

~Day 3~

You’ll want to spend your Sunday at the Polo Grounds. Since 1991, the Sarasota Polo Club at Lakewood Ranch has been providing exhilarating polo matches at one of the most beautiful settings in the area. Every Sunday afternoon (in season: Dec- April) the public is invited to bring out their picnic baskets and enjoy the thrill of the “fastest game on four feet”.

With pony and Clydesdale wagon rides, exciting action, tailgating, half-time entertainment, divot stomping and plenty of fresh air--- Sunday polo is the perfect place for a family outing!

But that’s not all --  A great deal of Lakewood Ranch is set aside as park and public recreational space, and visitors can take advantage of the area’s playgrounds and miles of walking and jogging trails including the Greenbrook Adventure Park, the Braden River Nature Trail and the Heron’s Nest Nature Park... So get out and explore!
